I'm a student and this blogg has been created to keep information on a daily to weekly basis about my project that i am doing to get my Bachelor of Information Technology. 24/4 Virtual Machines continued

*Yawn* Carrying on with virtual machine, i have the SQL Server 2005 iso image, so i can at least get that up and running, i havent got the Visual Studio iso yet, will sort that out. I'll create te database etc first in case getting that iso takes a couple of days.

Bahh, VMware Player giving me grief, stupid bug where if the update option comes up you just get a blank screen, so you have to keep re-opening virtual machine until you can cancel the update option before the log in screen comes up, other wise your doomed! This is like a game... except its not fun. AHHH FFS stupid vmware, sucks when it takes 10 goes just to open a damn machine, i dont want your stupid update!!!!!. YESSS take that!!!! Finaly got in...

22/4 Start of Implementation pt. 1

Hey! Had a few days off. Today i'm just going to put together an overview of what i need to do for the implementation of the business layer and database.

My milestone states:
6th May - Implementation Part One
  • Implementation of database finished
  • Business layer (All classes implemented and talking to database, Web service running)
Thats a start but i need to break this down further.


Implementation of Database
  • Install virtual machine and get Microsoft SQL server 2005 up and running.
  • Install Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 on virtual machine (alternatively i can try get hold of a virtual machine with both of these installed.
  • Create database, tables, relationships, stored procedures.
  • Insert fake data


Implementation of Business Layer

  • Create project, classes
  • Create webservice
  • Create database connections
  • Create test page to get data

Instead of napping i spent time sorting out dates, confused myself with my planned out dates vs my milestones haha, not actually supposed to be starting implementation until next week. Oh well start anyways.
